In an amazing sequence of events, Channel 7 broke the silence at 6pm July 1st about WiFi and the potential dangers, especially to children. Channel 9 followed a day later with a similar but even more alarming story on Today Tonight. On July 3rd, Telstra broadcasted Nationally, a text message to millions of mobile phone users warning of potential dangers of electromagnetic fields and how to reduce exposure. Is the dam about to break? At times in the past, when this type of thing happens, a fresh wave of evidence proving the dangers of EMF is about to be released to the public.
Companies begin to queue up to make sure they are legally covered by sending our ‘caring’ and ‘concerned’ emails and texts on how you can protect yourself – just to make sure they look like the good guys. Sooner or later this had to happen. The recent stories on channel 7 and 9 featured a young student who no longer can attend school because of side effects from WiFi. The story also mentioned WHO reports in 2011 stating WiFi is a potential cancer causing agent. Interestingly, the story then went on to cover some evidence from National Governments in Europe and even our own Education department recommending “A minimisation of WiFi in classrooms to avoid risk”. AMTA – The Australian Mobile Telecommunications Authority hit back within days sighting studies that suggest there is very little danger with WiFi. The Authority also mentions there is very little potential danger with using mobile phones as well. Make up your mind for yourself.
Many stories litter the internet about side effects, alleged cover ups and parents even blaming serious health effects on WiFi and mobile phones. This has been a contentious issue for years as the technology has grown so fast and network providers have generally overlooked concerns that have been raised about effects on the human body and people’s wellbeing in general. WiFi & mobile usage has grown incredibly fast with more than 80% of homes in Australia running broadband and/or WiFi and most Australians have a mobile phone. (in fact, ATMA says we have more mobiles in service than the entire population! )* Report June 2007
So what are the reported effects?
People have complained about itching sensations, burning ears, headaches, blurred vision, migraines, stomach problems, dizziness, heart palpitations, anxiety and nervousness and even depression. With such new technology, newer, faster routers and home signal ‘booster’ devices, it has been impossible for any real studies to be implemented to determine what effects WiFi is having on everyday people. One thing is for sure, studies or no studies, the complaints are rolling in. It’s time to listen to your gut again, that uneasy feeling that tells you this technology although something you cannot live without, may be harming you as well.
Three years ago, research in Holland showed that trees that were planted in close proximity to a wireless router suffered from damaged bark and dying leaves. The Dutch scientists carried out their research on ash trees which had been suffering with bark bleeding and dying leaves. The city of Alphen aan den Rijn, in the west of the country, ordered the study five years ago after officials found unexplained abnormalities on trees which they did not believe had been caused by any known viral infection. The trees were exposed to six sources of radiation with frequencies ranging from 2412 to 2472 MHz and a power of 100 mW at a distance of just 20 inches. Trees placed closest to the Wi-Fi routers developed a ‘lead-like shine’ on their leaves that was caused by the dying of the upper and lower epidermis. This would eventually result in the death of parts of the leaves and trees the study found.
What can you do to protect yourself?
1. Sit more than 3 feet away from your WiFi router
2. Turn off the WiFi router at night when not in use.
3. Do not use ‘WiFi’ boosters in your home
4. Limit time on your devices and turn off WiFi mode when not using the internet.

Before we got the WiFi Transformer 22-30 from you, I used to get what I can only describe as an anxiety type feeling in my chest. Most nights when I would sit quietly watching TV I’d notice what felt like heart palpitations / fluttering and I couldn’t just breathe normally, it would be sort of jittery as if I was anxious about something. I wasn’t overly worried about it, just thought it was how I was. But since we have had the transformer 22 in the house, it was noticeable after just a few days that I didn’t have this feeling anymore and I haven’t had it since. I am now positive this was now caused by the WiFi..very interesting. M.J
David’s Comment
In assessing the dangers and benefits, I can see enough evidence to warn people of potential dangers. Giant companies want to tell us it’s safe, yet when I hear credible sources raising the alarm, including Dr. Charlie Teo, Australian Neurosurgeon and Brain Cancer Specialist – as a Professional, I must take notice. I urge people to research themselves and take swift action to minimise exposure and/or protect themselves.
